Cannoli

Sicilian cannoli originated during the Arab rule in Sicily, with roots in the island’s celebration of special occasions. The pastry’s crispy shell, made from dough rolled around a tube, is filled with sweetened ricotta cheese, often flavored with citrus or cinnamon. Traditionally enjoyed during Carnival and other festivals, cannoli are a symbol of Sicilian hospitality and culinary heritage. Passed down through generations, they remain a beloved treat in Sicilian culture.
